A residential community and a business park do not have the same problem. The rules, the hardware and whoever administers the system all change.
Residential communities
The situation. The gatehouse writes in a notebook, the delivery gets in because «they know him» and nobody knows which vehicles are allowed today. When something happens, the information does not exist.
What changes. Resident plates sit on a whitelist and open on their own. Visitors are authorized with an expiry date, so they lapse without anyone having to remember to delete them.
What is used here

Business and corporate parks
The situation. Hundreds of companies on a single site, contractors rotating every week and one person working for three different companies on three different schedules.
What changes. Each company administers its own authorizations. If at least one of them allows entry today and at this hour, the person gets in; if none does, the gatehouse sees the exact reason.

Commercial parking facilities
The situation. Queues at the entrance because the attendant has to walk to the booth, handwritten tickets and charges that depend on whoever is on shift remembering them.
What changes. Everything happens on the handheld terminal: plate capture, printed QR ticket, scan on exit and calculation of time and amount.

Industry and corporate sites
The situation. Own staff on three shifts, contractors hired per job and supplier visitors. They all come through the same door with the same badge.
What changes. Profile and time window decide. A contractor whose authorization ends on the 30th does not get in on the 1st, even if the badge is still in his pocket. And where fingerprint fails because of manual work, palm vein reading keeps working.
