Eight ways to say who you are. One way to decide.
Face, fingerprint, palm vein, RFID card, PIN, vehicle plate, digital pass or ID document. The reader changes with the door; what happens next —the authorization, the day, the time window, anti-passback— is always the same.
The method identifies. The engine decides.
A biometric reader on its own answers «this fingerprint belongs to Jorge Medina». That is not access control: it still has to be known whether Jorge may enter through this door, today, at this hour and under which of his three companies. DigiAccess takes whatever identity the reader delivers and applies the same rules on top, wherever it came from.
That is why methods can be mixed on one site without duplicating administration: a person is registered once and is enabled at the turnstile with a fingerprint, at the gatehouse with their face and at the barrier with their car's plate.
Which one suits each door
None is best in the abstract. It depends on the flow of people, the state of their hands and how critical the point is.
The conventional solutionOne reader per door, each with its own list
The biometric reader comes with its own software and its own database. Enrolling someone at five doors is five records, and removing them is the same task five times — miss one and they keep getting in.

The person is registered once with the credentials they will use. The engine decides at each point according to its rules, and a single removal disables them all at once.
Face
What it reads. The geometry of the face, half a metre from the reader and touching nothing.
Where it shines. High-flow entrances and staff arriving with their hands full.
Bear in mind. It needs even lighting and the reader mounted at the right height.
Palm vein
What it reads. The vein pattern under the skin, lit with infrared light.
Where it shines. Industry and warehouses: it works with dirty, wet or calloused hands, or thin gloves.
Bear in mind. The reader costs more than a fingerprint one; reserve it for points that justify it.
Fingerprint
What it reads. The characteristic points of the finger on the sensor.
Where it shines. Offices and internal doors, where the volume of people is moderate.
Bear in mind. It is the method that fails most with wet, dirty or manually worn hands.
RFID card or fob
What it reads. The code on a badge, a fob or a proximity sticker.
Where it shines. Heavy flow, day visitors and external staff who will not be enrolled.
Bear in mind. Cards get lent and lost. At critical points, pair them with biometrics.
Vehicle plate
What it reads. The plate, read by the ANPR camera as the car approaches.
Where it shines. Vehicle gatehouses and parking: the driver neither lowers the window nor stops.
Bear in mind. It needs the camera well aimed and lighting at night.
Digital pass
What it reads. A code emailed on authorization, shown from the phone.
Where it shines. New visitors and contractors: they arrive with the pass ready and skip the reception queue.
Bear in mind. The pass derives from the ID document, so resending it delivers the same code, not a new one.
PIN
What it reads. A numeric code the person types on the reader's keypad.
Where it shines. A fallback when biometrics fails and a second factor in restricted areas.
Bear in mind. It gets shared and forgotten: use it as reinforcement, not as the main method.

The totem that reads the ID card
X is not a series: it is the latest DigiAccess generation, and it runs across all five product lines. A Generation X unit is the newest version of its family —what changes is what it can do, not which line it belongs to. The vehicle totem is the Generation X unit of the access control line.
At a vehicle gatehouse the bottleneck is not the barrier: it is the visitor lowering the window, handing over their ID and waiting for someone to type it in. This totem removes that step.
The driver holds their document up to the totem and the system reads it —Colombian ID card, old and new format—, creates or retrieves the record and decides. The 21-inch screen with audio guides the process without anyone having to attend.

The «can be lent» column is the one that decides at critical points: a card or a QR code changes hands; a vein pattern does not.
Two methods where one is not enough
Restricted areas require two credentials in sequence: the card states who they claim to be and the biometrics confirms it. If someone lends their card, the second step stops them.

It is enabled per access point, not for the whole site: the entrance turnstile stays a single-step door.
Register once
The person is enrolled by administration: the credentials they will use are captured —face, fingerprint, vein, card, plate— and tied to the same record.
When they leave, the record is disabled and every credential falls at once. No card stays alive because someone forgot to delete it from a reader.
